CompTIA said on Thursday that its recent survey showed that one in four companies adopts AI in task automation, workflow and machine learning and that 19 percent of companies expect to use the technology next year.Dan Shapero, founder of ClikCloud Digital Marketing and member of the board of CompTIA, cited the adoption of emerging technologies such as AI and mobile web to increase the customer experience and its impact on companies looking to increase their competitive advantage in the next year.
Other technological trends that organizations will face in 2018 include a greater emphasis on customer privacy and data security, as well as compliance with government mandates, such as the General Data Protection Regulation in the European Union.
Companies must comply with the requirements to safeguard the personal data of EU citizens before May 25 under GDPR.
The 2018 calendar year will also see an increase in the use of ransomware by cyber threat actors and the adoption of subscription service models.
"While there will always be a need to make technology capital acquisitions, subscription models are now the norm and some traditional customers are now acquiring their technology from multiple sources," said MJ Shoer, director of customer engagement and virtual director of Onepath information. .
"This requires technology solutions providers to generate value by helping our customers understand and take advantage of this evolution of the market trend," Shoer added.
